Not quite…but Sharn’s taking Spanish classes at the local community center, so pretty soon! She’s wanted to take classes since we were in Provo, so she’s having a blast with it. Personally, I have no idea if she’s saying it right or not 🙂 But it sounds pretty authentic, and it’s getting better than my Mandarin.
On a slightly different note, we were invited over to the house of this couple we know from Church. We had a really great time there but when we left, we both made the comment that having to speak in Chinese for that long was super tiring 😀 Maybe we need to practice some more!
Leave a CommentWell…most of the time, I had the day off today (just an extra day for the Labor Day long weekend). Unfortunately, no exciting road trip or anything from us this weekend. Sharn got a new job (maybe she’ll blog about it later) and started this week so even though I had the day off today, she had to work.
Anyway, we’re both really busy with work now (starting next week, I have to work a minimum of 45 hours/week) which is a good thing in that we have stuff to do, but it’s also slightly depressing cause it consumes our lives now. Pretty much everyday this week has been the same:
- I get dropped off at 7:30am so that Sharn can get to work on time
- We work all day
- Sharn picks me up sometime between 5 and 6pm after she’s done work
- We have dinner
- We watch TV, or watch a movie, or play the Wii
Anyway, I guess it’s welcome to the “real” world for us 🙂 A sign that we’re no longer college students and actually have to do something with our lives! Hahaha…maybe I’ll have to start growing up…no more conversations over dinner that are related to the toilet in some form or fashion….sigh.
Leave a CommentSo…we went to Santa Maria this past weekend to visit our friends Chris and Katrina who were visiting her parents. I have to say, there are a LOT of vineyards down there…good thing we don’t drink. We had a really relaxing time while we were down there, just walking around San Luis Obispo and Pismo Beach, eating a lot of food (Katrina’s parents are great cooks!), and playing a lot of Wii!
We had such a fun time playing the Wii (especially Boxing and Baseball on Wii Sports) that yesterday, we went and bought our own 🙂 In my defense, I’ve been thinking about it for a while, so it wasn’t completely an impulse buy! But it was pretty close. Anyway, as soon as we can stop playing and beating each other up, hopefully we’ll post some pictures of the past two weekends (Chris and Katrina spent the previous weekend with us here in San Jose) and also get around to staying more current with our blog posts!

3 CommentsWhy is the DMV so difficult? All we needed to do was change our drivers licence’s to California…sadly they couldn’t get it right as you can tell from the picture below
On a better note, at least we registered the car without incident but I AM sad that we don’t have Utah plates anymore (I miss the “Ski Utah!”)
Oh gosh! It’s been almost a month since we’ve blogged!! Ok, more coming soon… Just a little preview!
Eric’s sister and cousin, Annette and Vincent on the ferry to Alcatraz. Annette’s visiting from Sydney.
Waiting in line at Borders for the Harry Potter’s 7th book!
Finally got the book after about 4 hours of waiting! It was about 2:30am. (Sorry, don’t know how to rotate!)
Eric and Annette at Pidgeon Point.
Leave a CommentMan vs. Wild…first it was liquid from fresh elephant poo and now it’s your own pee. I’ve always wanted to know how to survive the Aussie Outback, and now I know. I’m just not sure I’d be able to drink my pee if it came down to it 🙂

Sharn and I were lucky enough last week to see Ratatouille for free at a special advance screening 🙂 Yay! We even got free popcorn and soda! Double Yay! For those of you who don’t normally like to pay full price for a movie, this one is worth it. It’s even worth paying for popcorn, a drink, and parking. It’s honestly that good. In a year when sequels, re-makes, and copies rule, this movie is funny, intelligent, and original! If you’re looking for a moral…here’s one for you…”you can achieve any dream that you set yourself to” 🙂 Anyway, everyone should go and see it!
Sharn’s officially moved down here now 🙂 Yay! Rough trip though. To make my 8 something flight, I had to be at the BART (train) station by 6am…which is a half an hour away from where we live 🙁 After arriving in SLC around 11:30am, I had to make my way down to Provo, load up the car and then hit the road. Many, many thanks go to Sharn’s student, Jikhan, and Andrew Wan for helping us load up the SUV. I have to say, I never thought that we’d fit everything in there, but the Toyota 4Runner is amazing!
Sharn had a TON of stuff! But it fit all of her stuff…granted we had to shove things into whatever space we could find, and I couldn’t see anything out the back of SUV (minor details).
Laura and Andrew fed us really yummy pizza (mmm….I like food 🙂 ) and by the time we left, it was like 2:40 pm or so but we were determined to make it all the way. We managed to make it all the way to Sacramento before I had to take a 15min nap. It was just after 2am by the time we made it here. The trip wouldn’t have been too bad but cause Sharn’s still under 25, the rental company wouldn’t let her drive 🙁 so I had to do it all myself. Rendy, I have no idea how you made it to Canada driving all the way! But at least we made it safely and were able to return the SUV before 24 hours was up (it would have been an extra $50/hour for every hour after a day). Anyway, I’m just happy to be with Sharn again (these past 3 weeks just weren’t the same without her).
